Wahkiakum County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a double fatality crash on State Route 4 near Messinger Hill Drive inside the city limits of Cathlamet in Wahkiakum County, WA around 1:00 p.m. on August 18th, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 22-year old Branson Chase Myers of Longview, Washington was traveling Westbound State Route 4 near milepost 35 in a white 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup when he crossed the center line and struck two motorcycles head-on. Upon impact, the first motorcycle, a red 2016 Harley Davidson Flathead came to rest on the Eastbound guard rail. The driver, 56-year old William Neudorfer and his passenger, 54-year old Patricia Neudorfer, both of Vancouver, were killed instantly.

The 2nd motorcycle, a black 2015 Harley Davidson Flathead, came to rest on the Westbound shoulder. The driver, 56-year old Wayne Priest and passenger, 56-year old Brenda Priest, both of Sequim were both injured and both were airlifted to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center for treatment. Their condition remains unknown.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash. All Four motorcycle riders were wearing USDOT Compliant helmets and both motorcycle drivers had valid motorcycle endorsements.
The cause of the crash is listed as Myers: Crossing the Center Line. He faces charges of Negligent Driving 2nd Degree-Vulnerable User.
