Three Injured in High Speed Crash on Marine Drive

Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash in the 4500 block of Marine Drive, 3 miles Southeast of Anacortes around 2:10 a.m. on October 21st, 2018.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 18-year old Basil Hauser-Anderson of Mount Vernon was traveling Northbound in the 4500 block of Marine Drive at a high rate of speed  in a black 2002 Acura RSX.

Troopers say HAUSER-ANDERSON  lost control of the vehicle went into the oncoming lane of traffic and the vehicle began rotating counter-clockwise before the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on the passenger’s side. HAUSER-ANDERSON was not injured in the crash, but three of her  passengers were.

16-year old Devra Dhaliwal of Anacortes was injured and transported to Island Hospital in Anacortes for treatment.

18-year old Travis Honeycutt of Anacortes was injured but not transported.

18-year old Charles Golding of Burlington was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

Troopers say it is unknown if any of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is listed as Excessive Speed and possible charges against the driver remain under investigation.

The vehicle was totaled and impounded to the Washington State Patrol bullpen for safe keeping.

  1. Charles golding got no justice not even the cost of his burial was paid for. No justice from wa.state at all or the insurance company . No justice for the victim. Not even a penny to help pay for his funeral. 218,000.00 hospital bill is all we got. Thanks wa. State for helping with the death of my son.
