Four Teens Injured in Whatcom County Crash

Whatcom County, WA- The Washington State patrol responded to a single vehicle  crash on North Fork Road at Mosquito Lake Road around 1:52 a.m. on May 4th, 2019.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, a 16-year old female was driving a tan 2000 Honda Accord Westbound On North Fork Road. Troopers say the vehicle approached a left curve in the road and lost control on the gravel.  The vehicle left the roadway to the North and struck several trees before coming to rest 40-feet down the embankment.

Troopers say the 16-year old driver, a 16-year old passenger, a 15-year old passenger and 19-year old Kaitlyn Sheets of Lynden were all injured and transported to St. Joes Hospital in Bellingham.  Troopers did not identify the names or hometowns of the juvenile teens involved.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol were involved  in the crash and the driver faces charges for vehicular assault. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The vehicle was totaled and impounded to the Washington State Patrol Bullpen as evidence.
