Marblemount, WA – The Washington State patrol responded to a high risk single vehicle crash on State Route 20, 2-miles East of Marblemount around 1:38 a.m. on June 3rd, 2019.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 43-year old Ronnie Lee Tom of Nespelem, Washington was traveling Eastbound on State Route 20 near milepost 109 in a 2002 Ford Explorer. Troopers say Tom was traveling with 33-year old Kaylynne Flett of WillPinit and a 7-year old Juvenile male.
Investigators say TOM was believed to be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, went off the roadway and struck a tree.
Passenger Kaylynne Flett was not wearing a seat belt and died as a result of the crash. The Juvenile male was not injured.
TOM was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon for treatment before being booked into the Skagit County Community Justice Center on an INVESTIGATIVE HOLD for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence, Vehicular Homicide and Driving While License Suspended 1st Degree.
The vehicle was impounded to the Washington State Patrol Bullpen in Burlington.
