Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a single dirt bike crash on Cape Horn Drive at Maple Court about 5-miles East of Concrete around 7:18 p.m. on July 3rd, 2019.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 20-year old Thomas Thompson of Ferndale was traveling Northbound on Cape Horn Drive at Maple Court on a red baha blitz dirt bike when he lost control of the bike and was ejected onto the street.
Troopers say Thompson was believed to be riding under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash and was not wearing a helmet. He was seriously injured and transported priority via Medic 7 to Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Troopers say the official cause and any possible charges in the incident are pending investigation, but driver impairment, and no helmet were contributing factors in the crash and injuries.
