Arlington, WA – Arlington Police Officers have arrested a 45-year old Arlington Man who is accused of grabbing a 16-year old female and trying to force her into a public bathroom at the Legion Park in the 100 block of North Olympic Avenue in Arlington around 1:15 p.m. on Monday, August 5th, 2019.
According to a press memo from the Arlington Washington Police Department, the teen reported the man tried to force her into the bathroom and as she struggled with him, the man’s grip tightened and she feared that she was going to be kidnapped. The girl was able to break free from the man and the man fled the scene.
The teen was able to give Arlington Officers a clear description of the man and Officers spend the afternoon looking for him. Around 8:15 p.m. the man was located and the teen was able to positively identify him as the man who had grabbed her earlier in the day.
The 45-year old man from Arlington was identified through online records as Robert Edwin Gough. He is currently be held in the Snohomish County Jail on a Probable Cause arrest for INVESTIGATION of Assault 4 with Sexual Motivation, Kidnap 2nd with Sexual Motivation, and Rape 2nd-Attempted. He is being held in Lieu of $200,000 bail.
