Wes Jones (front man for Lazy Acres) and Charlie Krengel (bass player in Tighty Whities) are teaming up for a mini tour ….. 5 shows in 8 days. Wes Jones has affectionately coined this excursion as the “Going Places But Not Really Tour”.
This won’t be the first time Wes and Charlie have played together. This past year, Charlie has teamed up with several local musicians, turning a solo show into a duo, but none as often as with Wes. The two have become quite a pair and are a gift to experience.
Out of all the male Skagit County musicians, Wes’ voice is one of my top favorites. It has a melodic, soulful quality that is both tranquil, as well as passionate. Mr. Jones is also one of the preeminent song writers currently in Skagit County.
Charlie Krengel plays lead guitar in this duo. He has an uncanny knack for improvisation in his guitar playing. He’s able to take whatever Wes figuratively throws to him and transform it into a riff that sounds like it was plucked from a Billboard top 10 rock song. Many of the local musicians have coined Charlie as being one of the best, if not the best, guitar player in the valley right now.
Wes and Charlie’s music stylings complement each other perfectly. The two together make for a fabulous evening of live entertainment!!
Please try to catch at least one of these shows. It will give you a new appreciation of the wonderful talent that we have right here in our own, beautiful Skagit Valley.
