Burlington, WA– Breaking News: Burlington Police and Fire Units responded to a reported weapons offense-shooting incident in the 400 block of South Burlington Boulevard around 11:00 p.m., on November 23rd, 2019. Responding officers were provided information from dispatchers about a vehicle seen leaving the scene.
Officers from Sedro-Woolley Police Department and Deputies from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office responded and located the vehicle turning into a business in the 1800 block of State Route 20 in Sedro-Woolley. The Officers and Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was detained and a passenger in the vehicle was located with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers on scene provided first aid to the subject until Medics arrived and the subject was transported “Priority” to a local hospital for further treatment. Their condition remains unknown.
The Driver was turned over to the Burlington Police Department for further questioning. The vehicle was impounded by Carl’s Towing and transported to the Burlington Police Department for evidence. A K-9 Team was brought in from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office and is actively searching for the suspect at the time of this report.
Local Hospitals receiving gunshot patients were placed on lockdown or lockout, which is a common practice when receiving patients from incidents such as this.
