Local Clear Lake residents Shelly and Rick Van Pelt have been unofficially holding the Annual Penguin Dip  for quite a few  years and this year, members of  the Skagit County Relay for Life took part in the event, raising money for cancer awareness. They also provided hot cocoa and snacks for participants.

While, the entire dip only takes less than a minute for the participants to run into the water, dip and run back out, several people look forward to the yearly event.  The Sedro-Woolley Girls Wrestling Team attends the yearly event as a team bonding experience.

To warm up after the event, Parents Jen and Dianne set up a table with Hot Chocolate, treats, mugs and scrunchies for the girls. Firefighter/EMT’s  with the Clear Lake Fire Department were on hand to enjoy the event and provide any medical care that might be needed.
