KRISTIN ALLEN-ZITO and JACK MATTINGLY

Bellingham native, Kristin Allen-Zito, is coming to Skagit County and bringing her distinctive music stylings to Birdsview Brewing this Saturday, March 7th, at 6pm.

Armed with an angelic voice and a wicked sense of humor, Ms. Allen-Zito is an accomplished indie folk musician who recently walked away with the What’s Up Magazine’s awards for Best Album (Bridge) and Best Singer-Songwriter.

This versatile artist has dabbled in many music genres over the years from the Seattle based classic country band “Double Country” to fronting an all women electro-punk band, “The Trucks”. Even though “The Trucks” only produced one album, they earned accolades from Seattle’s KEXP, national renowned SPIN music webzine, as well as music critic/contributor Milo Miles (NPR, The Rolling Stone and The Village Voice) and arts contributor Terry Gross (NPR Fresh Air host).

Ms. Allen-Zito’s true love is her own unique blend of singer-songwriter indie folk. It’s not so much that the style is unique, but Kristin’s often humorous take on life puts a twist on the genre that has made her a northwest favorite. Her wittiness even transcends into her soul-stirring pieces, often about heartbreak and evocative themes.

If coming to see the top singer-songwriter from Whatcom County wasn’t enough to perk your interest …. then let’s sprinkle in a bit of our own local favorite singer-songwriter, Jack Mattingly, and make this performance a real party!!

This is a show NOT to be missed. There is no cover charge, however tips are encouraged as this is a show you most likely will never forget.

** Make sure to check out Our PNW Music’s interview with Jack Mattingly (episode 2) where Jack talks about his admiration for Kristin Allen-Zito’s song writing.
