Skagit County, WA– Skagit Regional Health in conjunction with Skagit Public Health is asking people with symptoms of cough and fever to stay home and call their medical provider for direction instead of coming into the local emergency rooms or walk-in clinics. It is very important that people with respiratory illness call ahead and get triaged over the phone before visiting a local emergency room or walk-in clinic. Please don’t just show up at local emergency rooms, doctor’s office or walk-in clinics without calling ahead and getting direction from the healthcare providers. This will help them curb the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
In addition to asking people to call ahead before visiting healthcare providers, Skagit Regional Health is also offering FREE Online virtual visits through their telehealth system, MyEClinic, for anyone with respiratory illnesses. By Offering these virtual visits for free they are attempting to help alleviate some of the surge in patients seeking medical care in person at local emergency rooms and walk-in clinics due to the coronavirus. The virtual visits will also help curb the potential spread of the virus within our community. Patients experiencing symptoms like cough, fever or other respiratory problems can call or video chat with a board-certified provider 24/7 without leaving their home. Patients can use the coupon code COVID19 while requesting the visit to waive the $40.00 session fee. It is important to note that COVID-19 cannot be tested virtually. The board-certified providers are trained to evaluate symptoms and make recommendations based on CDC (Centers for Disease Control) criteria. Recommendations may include sending patients to a testing or treatment facility, if necessary.
To speak with a board-certified provider virtually, visit MyEClinic and click “Request Care.”
