Acme, WA– The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspected homicide in the Acme area after a body was found at a park on Saturday, April 4th, 2020.
According to a press release from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, around 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, two dog-walkers who were out for a stroll at the South Fork Park in the 1500 block of Mosquito Lake Road in Acme, found a human body in the middle of a gravel road. The dog-walkers immediately called 9-1-1 and reported the body to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene and found a victim who had “suffered significant trauma and was obviously deceased,” according to the press release. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and completed a homicide investigation. A family member of the victim, identified her in a social media post on Facebook.
The bother of the victim, Eli Sather of Birdsview, posted on Facebook around 8:00 p.m., on April 4th, 2020 that the victim in the homicide was his older sister, Dariann Sather. He wrote “As much as I don’t want to make this post I have to. As many of you already know my older sister Dariann Satherr Was the victim of a murder this morning. Please have her and our family in your prayers tonight. And just appreciate the life you have, even if it’s on hold right now because of the Coronavirus just please take a second to be thankful to be on this beautiful earth because we never know when it’s our last day. love you forever sis 04-04-20.”
Deputies with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office say Foul Play is suspected in the victim’s death, and the case is an ongoing homicide investigation.
