Skagit County, WA – On March 23, 2021 at approximately 12:08 AM, Burlington Police were dispatched to a weapons offense complaint in the 1600 Block of South Burlington Blvd at the Sports Keg.
According to a Press release from the Burlington Police Department, Officers were advised there was a male subject outside the business waving a gun around and being belligerent. Burlington Police officers arrived and were informed that the suspect left in a vehicle.
Witnesses told Burlington Police officers that the suspect had gotten into an altercation in the parking lot. The suspect allegedly became angry, removed a handgun from the vehicle, and brandished it in a threatening manner while making verbal threats.
The vehicle the alleged suspect was driving was stopped a short time later and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as a 29-year-old male that is a Police Officer with the Sauk-Suiattle Tribal Police Department. He was booked into the Skagit County Community Justice Center on Felony charges.
Burlington Police Chief Michael Luvera said “I have spoken with the Sauk-Suiattle Chief of Police regarding this arrest. Burlington Police Department Detectives continue to investigate and gather evidence and facts as we focus on the criminal aspects of this case. When appropriate, the investigative details will be shared with the Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe”.
