Mount Vernon Man Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle While Walking Along SR9

Snohomish County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a 1-car vehicle versus pedestrian collision around 8:50 p.m. on April 27th, 2021 on State Route 9 at 256th Place, North of Arlington.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 46-year old Kevin Seal of Mount Vernon was walking on the Northbound Shoulder of State Route 9 when he was stuck by an unknown vehicle.  Mr. Seal was thrown into the ditch by the force of the collision and the unknown vehicle fled the scene.

Mr. Seal was transported by medics to Providence hospital for treatment where his condition remains unknown.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Rocky Oliphant said the fleeing vehicle should have significant damage to the front of the vehicle. Troopers encourage the public to report any suspicious vehicles with new damage to them in the area.

A Witness, Kelly Wride, posted on the Snohomish County Crime and Community Facebook Group that she saw a man wearing all black clothes, walking North on Highway 9 down the center of the Northbound Lane around 8:40 p.m. and thought it was strange.  A second witness, Stephanie Lee, posted that she saw a man walking North on Highway 9 on the side of the road around 8:10 p.m.
