La Conner, WA – Deputies with the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 9-1-1 call from a citizen who was reporting they found a person slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in Pioneer Park with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, around 1:30 p.m. on June 23rd, 2020.
Arriving Deputies and first responders found a deceased male in the vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives with the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and after a thorough investigation, believe the 19-year old male in the vehicle died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, consistent with a suicide.
According to a release from the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office, the 19-year old male was from Whidbey Island. The Sheriff’s Office said the Skagit County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death, as well as identify the male, once proper family notifications have been completed.
