Sedro Woolley Man Dies in Early Morning Crash on SR20

Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Route 20 at the intersection of Healy Road around 6:05 a.m. on November 17th, 2021.

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 59-year old Keith Taxdahl of Concrete,  was traveling Westbound on State Route 20 in a 1997 Toyota Tacoma (Vehicle 1) when he allegedly crossed the centerline of State Route 20  onto Healy Road as a 43-year old Sedro-Woolley man was traveling Eastbound on State Route 20 in a Nissan vehicle (Vehicle 2).

Troopers say the Sedro-Woolley Man attempted to avoid the collision but vehicle 1 struck vehicle 2 in the Eastbound Lanes of State Route 20.  Vehicle 1 then came to rest on the Westbound Shoulder of State Route 20 and  Vehicle 2 came to rest  off the roadway on the south side of State Route 20.

Mr. Taxdahl was injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment where his condition remains unknown.   The 43-year old Sedro-Woolley man died at the scene. Troopers have not released his name at the time of this publication, pending Next of Kin Notifications.

Troopers say it was unclear if either man was wearing a seat belt and it is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Charges are pending against Mr. Taxdahl, according to the press release.

Both vehicles were impounded for safe keeping by Carl’s Towing.
