UPDATE: Mount Vernon Walmart Shooting

Skagit County, WA – The investigation into the Weapon Offense which occurred at Walmart, 2301 Freeway, Mount Vernon, WA continues. The onsite investigation was completed at approximately 4:30 am.

Detectives are reviewing video, interviewing witnesses and following up on information obtained.

The 72-year-old male customer that was shot and the 24-year-old male employee that was shot as well as one of the 19-year-old males that was involved and shot, were all transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for further treatment.

At this time, no arrests have been made in the case.

After the store was deemed safe and all victims accounted for, a
puppy was located in a shopping cart within Walmart. From social
media outlets, we’ve learned a shopper was separated from their
pet and attempts to reach them have been unsuccessful. If you know the owner of the pet pictured below and can assist in reunification, please contact the Mount Vernon Police Department.

  1. Pictures of the puppet, (and time and effort into reuniting with owner), but not of the suspects — or any arrests… Good to know priorities are in order.
