Mount Vernon Police Seek Information on Identity of Man Killed by Train

Skagit County, WA- The Mount Vernon Police Department and the Skagit County Coroner’s Office is requesting assistance from the public with identifying a male involved in a train/pedestrian collision which occurred on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 00:20 am. The pedestrian died as a result of his injuries.

Below is a forensic sketch of the pedestrian composed from scene data. The actual individual may look slightly different. The male pedestrian did not have any items of identification at the time of the incident.

The pedestrian was wearing well maintained dark running pants, a dark long-sleeved shirt and a distinctive neon green, “The Walking Drunk” t-shirt. He has a medium complexion with short black
hair, believed to be in his 30’s. He’s approximately 5’-6” to 5”-8” tall and approximately 160 lbs. There is evidence of dental care consistent with routine preventative visits and has undergone a
significant shoulder surgery in the past.

Out of respect and courtesy, the Mount Vernon Police Department diligently works to notify next of kin in person in any fatality investigation before releasing the information to the public.
Unfortunately, in this case, our efforts to identify the victim have been unsuccessful. We are now seeking the assistance of the public. Anyone with possible information on the identity or next of kin to the victim is encouraged to call the Mount Vernon Police Department.
