PRETTY MUCH NOTHING – New Band Straight Outta Concrete

Periodically I like to bring attention to extraordinary musical talent in Skagit County; this is one of those times. We have a new band in Skagit County that is so brilliant, with a little luck they are destined to break out onto the national scene.

The band is called Pretty Much Nothing and is based out of Concrete, WA. Don’t let their self-deprecating title fool you …. They are Pretty Much Something.

The band is comprised of Miguel Garibay on guitar and lead vocals, Gibson Fichter (from the band Bare Feet, also out of Concrete) on bass and vocals and Spencer Duffy on drums, synthesizer and vocals.

Their sound is a blues rock style, reminiscent of a late 60’s era that invokes a Jimi Hendrix’ish vibe. Pretty Much Nothing undoubtedly could’ve graced the festival stages at Woodstock and the Monterey Pop Festival as easily as they would fit in on the current festival circuits, namely Lalapalooza and Coachella.

Experiencing a live Pretty Much Nothing performance is nothing short of an extravaganza; camaraderie between the three is indisputable. Synergy between the band members during performances consistently escalates, which creates an electrifying show for their audience.

If you are a live music enthusiasts, Pretty Much Nothing should definitely be on your to-do list. This weekend you can see them at Birdsview Diner on Friday, September 2nd at 6:00pm and on Saturday, September 3rd at AMP Fest around 2:30pm.

Make sure to follow them on Facebook at  https://www.facebook.com/prettymuchnothing21 to keep up to date on future performances, or look for their Skagit County gigs on Skagit Breaking’s weekly Live Music Roundup.
