Troopers Identify Concrete Man Killed on SR20 over the Weekend

Skagit County, WA – The Washington State Patrol has released the name of the 29-year-old Concrete man that died in a car accident on State Route 20 near Pinelli Road around 5:36 am on September 8th 2023.

According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, 29-year old Nicholas C. Verner of Concrete, Washington was traveling Westbound on State Route 20 in a black, 2000 Subara Legacy when he swerved to avoid an Elk in the roadway, lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole.

Local fire districts and emergency medical personnel responded to the crash, but Verner was pronounced deceased at the scene. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident, according to Troopers.

The vehicle was impounded by Cascades Towing and Roadside Services LLC for safe keeping.
