King County, WA – The Washington State Patrol responded to a hit and run crash on Northbound I-5 to 220th Street SW near milepost 179 around 9:38 p.m. on November 22nd, 2023.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, a gray 2005 Honda Accord and a Gray 2006 Nissan Armada were traveling Northbound on I-5 when an unknown driver in the Nissan Armada struck the Honda Accord and forced it into the jersey barrier before the Honda came to rest blocking the off ramp to 220th Street. The driver of the Armada fled the scene in the vehicle and left the injured occupants of the Honda in the middle of the roadway. The Honda was being driven by 34-year old Jamie Garcia of Bellingham. Garcia was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. Two passengers in his vehicle were injured and transported by medics to Providence Hospital for treatment. Troopers identified the additional victims as 38-year old Nestor Cruz and 19-year-old Neva Hansen, both of Bellingham, Washington.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding sent out a press release, asking the public to help find the Gray 2006 Nissan Armada with California license Plates 5XKF504. The vehicle is said to have passenger side damage and looks similar to the one in the picture below:
