Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Fife, Washington: Around 11:10 am this morning, the Washington State Patrol responded to reports of a serious injury collision on Northbound I-5 at 54th Avenue (MP 137) in the City of Fife. Jason Karwhite, 42, of Auburn, Washington was riding a Maroon 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle Northbound on I-5 just North of 54th Avenue in lane three. Nicholas Ynda, 53 of Battle Ground, Washington was driving a red 2015 Peterbuilt Tractor and Box Trailer. He was also Northbound on I-5  just North of 54th Avenue in lane two. The rider of the motorcycle lost control, ejecting the rider into lane two where he was struck and killed by the semi.  The Harley was impounded by Fife Recovery and the Peterbuilt was driven from the scene.  Next of Kin was notified by the Tukwila Fire Department.  The cause of the accident is under investigation.
