Shelton, WA: 1:26 AM. The Washington State Patrol responded to a two car fatality collision on State Route 101, near milepost 348.5, which is two miles southwest of Shelton in Mason County.
According to the press memo, Severiano Lopez, 20 was Southbound on SR101 near milepost 348.5 in a Red 1990 Mazda Mx6 when he crossed the center line and struck a Northbound green 1992 Honda Accord head-on. Driving the Accord was 20 year old Breanna Renee Atwell of Shelton. She died at the scene.
The causing driver in the Mazda, Severiano Lopez was injured and transported to St Peters Hospital. His vehicle was impounded to the district 8 Washington State Bullpen.
A passanger in the victim vehicle, Samuel John Roark III, 22, of Shelton was injured and transported to Mason General Hospital.
The state Patrol press memo states drugs or alcohol is believed to be a causing factor in the crash. Charges are under investigation.
