Burlington School Releases statement on student Safety Incidents

Here is a letter released today to the parents and families of Allen School students from Principal Steven Finch.  The letter is below:

The Skagit County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating two separate but possibly related student safety incidents. On Friday, March 13, a Bay View School student reported an attempted abduction by an unknown adult male on foot in the 12000 block of Bay Hill Drive at bout 1:15 PM. The student was unharmed.

On Monday, March 16, the parent of two primary-grade Allen students reported an unknown adult male in a vehicle parked in her driveway in the 21000 block of Cook Road. When the driver was approached, he backed out of the driveway and left going east on Cook Road. The two students were also unharmed.

At Allen School today we have had a brief lesson with students on staying safe while getting off the bus and walking to and from home.

Please help your student understand our need for us all to be more aware of what they are doing as they go to and from school. El Departamento del Sheriff del condado de Skagit esta investigando dos separados casos , pero es posible que el incidente de seguridad de estudiantes es igual. El viernes, 13 de marzo, un estudiante de la Escuela de Bay View informó de un intento de secuestro por un hombre desconocido que estaba caminando de pie en el bloque 12000 de Bay Hill Drive a las 1:15pm.El estudiante era ileso.

El lunes, 16 de marzo, el padre de dos grados en primaria de Allen a un informó de un adulto de sexo masculino desconocido en un vehículo estacionado en la calle observando sus estudiantes jugando después de que ir en un autobús escolar en el 21000 bloque de Cook Road. Cuando nos acercamos al conductor, rápidamente salió de la calle y huyó rápidamente hacia el calle Cook Road. Los dos estudiantes también están a salvos.

En la escuela primaria de Allen, hoy hemos tenido una breve lección con los estudiantes en cómo mantenerse a salvo al bajar del autobús escolar y caminar a casa.

Por favor ayude a su estudiante a entender nuestra necesidad de que todos tenemos que ser más consciente de lo que los estudiantes hacen cuando van a la escuela y cuando llegan a casa.
