Trending Now: The #TwizzlerChallenge has started trending on Twitter, with celebrities and ordinary people joining in on the fun.
The #TwizzlerChallenge involves two people sharing a piece of the red licorice, Lady and The Tramp-style, and it’s going viral in the US to raise money for autism.
According to the website New York Collaborates for Autism, who also work with Night of Too Many Stars, they raise funds to support autism schools, programs and services across the country in support of the growing population of individuals with autism that so desperately need quality services. their focus is to help those living with autism right now.
Since 2006, Night of Too Many Stars has raised over $22 million, giving children and adults with autism the chance they deserve to learn, to contribute and to live the fullest lives possible.
Here is what they suggest:
Take the #TwizzlerChallenge for Autism! Make a video of you and someone else eating a Twizzler, Lady-and-The-Tramp style, then nominate your friends, families, BFFs or frenemies to take the challenge or donate to New York Collaborates for Autism by clicking on their name.
Then, post your video on social media using #TwizzlerChallenge, #NYC4A and www.NYC4A.org/twizzlerchallenge so they can follow your videos.
And if you know someone with autism or someone who works with individuals with autism, you can dedicate your challenge in their honor!
Who are you going to nominate this year?
The Today Show’s Matt Lauer and Kathie Lee Gifford recenlty did the Twizzler Challenge live on TV. The two locked lips on the program and then shared a hug, after being nominated by fellow Today Show hosts Willie Geist and Meredith Vieira, who also shared a sneaky licorice kiss.
