Burlington, WA: By now you have probably heard of 5 year old Seth Lane. In case you haven’t, Seth has severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID), which is sometimes referred to as “bubble boy disease.”
Due to his medical condition, Seth has lived over half his short life inside a sterile hospital room. Seth did not have any contact with other children until he was nearly three years old.
Seth’s parents have maintained a blog updating his condition and their battles with the disease. The blog titled “our little hero” can be found here: This month, they made a short film of him and posted it to YouTube which instantly went viral. The video is said to have already been viewed over two million times on Buzzfeed, with thousands of people pledging to participate in an online campaign to #WearYellowforSeth on March 27th, 2015.
How does the campaign work? The family blog says the campaign is simple: “On March 27th, 2015 we’d love for everyone to post a picture of you wearing something yellow to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with hash-tag #wearyellowforseth.” You can also follow the family @OurHeroSeth on Twitter. It doesn’t have to be a yellow top, anything is acceptable. In fact they ask that you BE inventive and creative. The goal is to Make Seth laugh!
Employees at the Burlington Haggen Store are planning a massive Skagit County Photo for Seth. They say that anyone that wants to join them is welcome to do so. To be a part of the Skagit County #WearYellowforSeth photo, please join them at 10m am, Friday March 27th at the Burlington Haggen store. They will be meeting under the parcel pickup area( the covered area). The address is 757 Haggen Drive, Burlington WA., 98233. Remember to WEAR YELLOW. Dress up, be creative and have fun!
