Skagit County, WA:  March 26th, 2015. 4:37 pm. The Washington State Patrol responded to reports of  a single motorcycle  accident on State Route 9 near milepost 38 in Skagit County.

According to the press memo, 74 year old Allen Ogle, of Arlington, Washington was Southbound State Route 9 near Milepost 38 on a 2001 Honda Motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a left curve and struck a guardrail. The motorcycle fell on its’ right side and slid on the highway.   A witness stopped and helped the motorcycle driver  until aid crews arrived.

The driver was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital and after stabilization was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle by an Airlift Northwest Helicopter crew.

The press memo states the driver was wearing a USDOT compliant helmet.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected in the accident.

The motorcycle was released to family members who arrived at the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation and charges are pending against the driver.
