Anacortes, WA: April 8th, 2015. 10:39 am. The Washington State Patrol responded to a single car Motor vehicle accident at East Highway 20 and Reservation Road. Two women were killed in the accident.
The Washington State Patrol press memo states Gail Wieldraayer, 59, of Oak Harbor was Eastbound State Route 20 at Reservation Road in a 2000 Ford Explorer when the vehicle went off the roadway to the right and struck a jersey Barrier. She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center where she passed away from her injuries.
A passenger in the vehicle, Lorna Wieldraayer, 84, of Oak Harbor, was airlifted to Harborview as well, where she passed away from her injuries.
The vehicle was totaled and towed by Anacortes Towing.
The cause is under investigation.
The press memo states both were wearing their seat belts and drugs or alcohol were not suspected in the accident.
