Breaking News: Bank Robbery in Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon, WA:  Mount Vernon Police Officers responded to reports of a bank robbery at Peoples Bank in Mount Vernon  around 5:30 pm this evening.  Employees on site confirmed the robbery with officers.   The suspect gave verbal commands demanding money. A weapon was not displayed during the robbery.

A  (BOLO) was put out to local law Enforcement for a suspect seen leaving in a  Black Ford Ranger with a black spray painted canopy with temp tags.

A Skagit County Sheriff saw the vehicle get on I-5 and followed the vehicle to exit 208 in Snohomish County where it exited, and went Eastbound on SR 530. Once Backup arrived, the driver and passenger were taken into custody  by The Skagit County Sheriff’s, Mount Vernon Police, Snohomish County Sheriff, Stanwood Police and the Washington State Patrol.
