Driver Pulls Gun on WSP Trooper during Traffic Stop

Kitsap, WA: Washington State Patrol Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle earlier today for lane travel and using their cell phone while driving.

 

 

The driver pointed a gun out of the vehicle at a Washington State Patrol Sergeant during the traffic stop and led police on a pursuit.

The driver and a passenger were taken into custody after the pursuit when a police K-9 found them in a shed behind a residence.

The gun has not been recovered by a loaded 9mm magazine was found to still be in the vehicle.

There is also a bullet hole in the vehicle from the cab into the bed of the truck. It is unclear if the officer was shot at or not and Troopers are still investigating.

 

 

The suspect is a known criminal and convicted felon with an active Felony Warrant for escape of Community custody and felony drug convictions (VUCSA).

This is an ongoing incident and the story will be updated as additional information becomes available.
