Everett Man Killed in Snohomish Motorcycle Accident

Motorcycle accident photoSnohomish County,WA: June 7th, 2015. 11:34 PM. The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal motor vehicle accident on I-405 South of State Route 527 in Snohomish County. 

According to the Press Memo from the Washington State Patrol, 45 year old Calvin Jones of Everett was Northbound I-405 at a high rate of speed in lane 3 in a silver 2001 Nissan Maxima.   David Ames, 50 of Everett was also Northbound I-405 in Lane 3 on a 2007 Honda Motorcycle. The driver of the Silver Nissan Maxima drifted to the left shoulder, over corrected and crossed all lanes to the right shoulder, went through the guardrail and traveled about 25 feet down an embankment.  The driver of the motorcycle locked up his brakes and laid the bike down in Lane 2. The bike came to rest in lane 2 and the rider came to rest in lane 3.  He was transported to Harborview Medical center where he was pronounced deceased. 

The press memo lists the cause of the accident as "driver asleep at the wheel" and says charges are not pending.
