Bow Woman Killed in Motorcycle Accident

fatal-crash-file photoIsland County, WA: July 3rd, 2015. 9:09 pm. The Washington State Patrol responded to a 3 car, fatal accident in the 41000 block of State Route 20 near Deception Pass.

According to the updated press memo released today from the Washington State Patrol, 42 year old  Robin Lindgren of Bow,  was traveling Northbound on State Route 20  on a Black 2002 Honda VT100 motorcycle when she rear ended a blue 1999 Ford F150 driven by 50 year old, Leslie Mcmahan, of Edmonds.

The Ford F150  had stopped to make a left turn.  The impact of the crash, ejected the motorcycle driver and she landed in the Southbound lanes of SR20 where she was hit by an oncoming  Green , 2001 Ford Ranger, driven by 19 year old, Nelson Root of Oak Harbor.

 All involved parties, immediately stopped and tried to assist the motorcycle rider, but she ultimately died from her injuries.

The cause of the accident is listed as Inattention on the part of the motorcycle rider that rear ended the stopped truck.

The motorcycle was impounded by Christians Towing.

There were no other injuries in the accident and both trucks were driven from the scene.

The Press memo states that drugs or Alcohol were involved in the accident. (Motorcycle Rider).

The motorcycle rider was wearing a DOT approved helmet and had a valid motorcycle endorsement.

Charges are not pending against either of the surviving drivers.
