ARLINGTON, Wash. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office,  Dive Team and medics responded to the 14300 block of Jordan road just after 6 pm tonight for reports of an unresponsive person in the water.

Arriving medics found the man, a 21-year old from Granite Falls, to be unresponsive and floating in a shallow part of the river.   Aid Crews  began administering CPR. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said that medics were unable to revive the man and he died at the scene.

The Dive Team arrived  and moved the  man from an island on the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River  to the banks of the river and he was then transferred to the Snohomish County Medical Examiners Office.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said Drugs are believed to have been a contributing factor in his death, but the official cause and manner (as well as identification) are pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
