Texas Teen Dies After Fall at Deception Pass

Deception Pass, WA: Scott Wuensch, an 18-year-old teen from Carrollton, Texas,  died Wednesday, August 12th, 2015 after falling nearly 50 feet on Pass Island, the island in the center of the Deception Pass Bridge.

The teen was part of a Group of 6  teens, including Scott’s Brother,  who had walked down to the shore on Pass Island while visiting from Texas.

Scott and another teen started hiking back up to the top.  The teens stopped and Scott, climbed out on a limb of a tree, which broke and that is when  he fell about 50 feet to his death.

Emergency Responders  reached Scott by boat, and they started CPR. He was transported  to Cornet Bay,  where he was pronounced dead. 

Next of kin in Texas have been notified of his death.

According to his You Caring Page, set up by The Morris Family, “Scott is survived by his father Michael, his mother Sandra, two brothers Grant and Eli, and sister Jessie. Scott, an Eagle Scout, was an amazingly unique young man who combined a passion for science, engineering, math and robotics with a love for piano and dancing. A recipient of an Academic Honors Scholarship, he was scheduled to commence his college career at UTD later this month in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering.”
