Two Injured in SR530 Crash Near Darrington

Darrington, WA-  September 10th, 2015. The Washingon State Patrol Responded to a serious injury crash on State Route 530 near Milepost 54 around 2:20 pm today.

According to the press memo for the Washington State Patrol, Joni Soriano, 59, of Darrington was Westbound State Route 530  in a 1998 Mercedes 230CP, near milepost 54,  when she attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. She turned into the path of an Eastbound 1999 Yamaha Motorcycle that was being rode by  Bruce Brooks, 66, of Concrete. The impact of the collision ejected Mr. Brooks from the motorcycle and onto the right shoulder of the highway.  Mr. Brooks was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.

The cause of the accident is listed as failure to yield.

Both Vehicles were impounded for safekeeping to Dave’s towing.

The driver of the Mercedes was transported to Cascade Valley Hospital with injuries.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected in the accident.
