Mount Vernon Man Arrested For Felony Stalking

Stalking File Photo 2Mount Vernon, WA-  On August 6th, 2015 the Mount Vernon Police Department responded to the 3400 block of East College Way for reports of a possible stalking situation.

Officers made contact with a women who stated her husband who she had a no contact order with was stalking her.  The woman stated the man was using her own cell phone, which he was in possession of  to call her house phone. She was able to provide officers with evidence of the calls.

The woman also stated that the man, who had previously been served with a no contact order, was watching her from one street away. She was able to point out his vehicle to officers which was less than 1000 feet away.

The woman stated she had not been staying at her house for fear of the man would come there.

Officers went to contact the vehicle and the vehicle drove away as officers approached it.   Officers stopped the vehicle and confirmed that the woman’s husband was driving the vehicle and he was taken into custody.

The man stated he had been trying to contact the woman because he was trying to pay her for rent. He also told officers that he was near the house because he wanted to give her money for rent as well.   The woman’s cell phone was located on the front seat of the vehicle.

Officers transported the man to the Skagit County Jail. While en route, the man told officers that the judge should not release him because he was going to buy a gun and kill himself if the judge did.  He repeated this to officers on several occasions while en route to the jail.

The man is currently being held in the Skagit County Jail on $50,000 bail for two counts of Felony Domestic Violence Stalking.
