Mount Vernon, WA- On December 1st, 2015, around 4 am, Officers from the Mount Vernon Police Department responded to a security alarm at a convenience store in the 1700 block of East College way.
According to a press memo from Mount Vernon Police Lieutenant Chris Cammock, the business was closed and upon arrival officers discovered a front window broken out and the business appeared to have been broken into.
A preliminary inventory of missing items included tobacco, smoking products and cash along with damage to the store windows.
Police obtained security footage from the store’s video system capturing an image of the suspect who was recognized from previous police contacts as an 18-year-old Mount Vernon man living in the 2200 Block of Martin Road.
At approximately 2:00 pm today, Detectives located the suspect at home wearing clothing similar to what was worn during the burglary.
Investigators arrested the man and he was booked into Skagit County Jail for two counts of Burglary to a commercial establishment.
