GOLD BAR, Wash. – Major crimes detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an adult human skull discovered by a logger in the forest last week.  The logger called the Sheriff’s Office the morning of Wednesday, November 25 after finding the skull while marking trees on privately-owned timber land, about five miles west of SR 2 between Gold Bar and Index.  The skull was taken into custody by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification.  No other human remains were found at the site.

Detectives are looking into the circumstances of how and why the skull came to be in the area and the incident remains under investigation.
