Oak Harbor, WA- On December 9th, 2015 around 6:10 pm, A Washington State Patrol Trooper was involved in a crash on State Route 20 at East Whibey Avenue in Oak Harbor.
According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, Trooper Andrew Kincaid, 21 of Oak Harbor was Northbound on State Route 20 in a fully marked 2014 Washington State Patrol, Ford Explorer Police Interceptor, when he attempted to make a left hand turn onto West Whidbey Avenue. Vehicle two, a 2005 Toyota Truck, driven by 78 year old William Blake of Oak Harbor, was Southbound State Route 20 at the same intersection and the vehicles collided in the intersection.
Trooper Kincaid, was injured and driven to the hospital by family members.
Mr. Blake was treated at the scene for his injuries. A passenger in Mr. Blakes vehicle, Yasuko Blake, 77 of Oak Harbor was injured and treated at the scene for her injuries.
The press memo states everyone involved in the crash was wearing their seat belts.
Both Vehicles were impounded to the Washington State Patrol Bullpen in Burlington.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
The cause of the crash and possible charges are both under investigation.
