Sedro Woolley Man Arrested for Theft at Wal Mart

Mount Vernon, WA- On September 3rd, 2015 a Sedro Woolley Man was arrested at the Mount Vernon Wal Mart Store for allegedly stealing $98.47 worth of merchandise.

According to a probable cause affidavit for arrest,  James Hanson, 31, of Sedro Woolley was detained by Wal Mart Loss Prevention around 8 pm on September 3rd, 2015 after he concealed multiple items and left the store without paying for them.

Mr. Hanson had been previously trespassed from the Mount Vernon Wal Mart location on October 14th, 2014 for one year and was in violation of his trespass notice.

Mr. Hanson admitted to officers that he has a $20.00 a day Heroin addiction and was stealing to support his habit and his family.  Officers located a black tar substance on his person, which later tested positive for black tar heroin.

The probable cause affidavit states that Officers suggested charges against  Mr. Hanson for Theft 3rd Degree, Violation of Uniformed Controlled Substance Act-Possession of Heroin, and Burglary 2nd Degree due to the fact that he had been previously trespassed from Wal Mart.

Mr. Hanson was booked into the Skagit County Jail on December 11th, 2015 on a Felony Arrest Warrant and held in Lieu of a $15,000 bail  for Burglary 2nd degree.   He has since been released and is awaiting his next court appearance.
