Belfair Man Killed in Crash On State Route 106

Mason County, WA- The Washington State Patrol Responded to a fatality collision on West State Route 106 near Milepost 17 in Mason County on December 18th, 2015.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, 91 year old Richard Rasmussen of Belfair, was killed in the collision when he attempted to make a U-Turn from the shoulder of SR 106 in front of another vehicle. He died at the scene.

A passenger in his vehicle, 84 year old,  Carol Wentlandt, was injured and transported to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.

The driver of the second vehicle, Alexa Devlin, 33, of Bremerton was injured and transported to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.

The cause of the crash was listed as “unsafe U-Turn” and charges are not pending, as the causing driver died at the scene.

Harrison Towing, removed both vehicles from the scene.
