Human Remains Found Near Kayak Point

STANWOOD, Wash. – Late yesterday, January 20th, 2016, two hikers reported finding human remains off of 140^th St Northwest  between Marine Dr and Kayak Point Rd in Snohomish County.

Shari Ireton, Director of Communications for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says  detectives are on scene investigating.

The gender and age of the remains are pending examination by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.  It is unknown how long the remains have been there or the cause of death. The medical examiner has taken custody of the remians.

The road between Marine Dr and Kayak Point Rd will be closed for the investigation through the afternoon today.
