Big Lake, WA- Eighteen years ago today, 30 year old Geoff Reynolds was found shot to death in his home on Montborne Road near Big Lake. The case remains an unsolved Homicide.
On January, 21st, 1998 around 2:20 pm, Geoff Reynolds Live In girlfriend, Deanna Combs came home from work to find him dead of a gunshot wound in a home they shared.
Detectives with the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office say they have followed hundreds of leads in the case and have questioned many people of interest but no arrests have been made. Detectives believe the person or persons who killed Mr. Reynolds, most likely knew him as there was no forced entry into the home.
Detectives have had persons of interest, but never obtained enough information from anyone to rise to the level of having enough probable cause to make an arrest in the murder.
Detectives say, “Mr. Reynolds had some involvement with the local illegal drugs trade and it is likely his death is somehow connected to the risks that lifestyle can pose.”
In 2008, Jaime Reynolds, Jeff’s Half Brother tried to bring renewed attention to the case. During that time, Jaime told reporters “He didn’t deserve this in any way. He should be alive today. He would probably have a family. Despite his shortcomings, it should have never happened.”
