Whatcom County, WA: The Washington State Patrol Responded to a single vehicle crash with serious injuries in the 3300 block of Haxton Way about 10 miles West of Bellingham on January 25th around 1:40 pm.
According to the press memo from the Washington State Patrol Corina Jones, 22 of Bellingham, was traveling at a high rate of speed Southbound on Haxton Way in a white 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse when she lost control of her vehicle while passing another car on a double yellow line. The vehicle left the roadway, rolling several times into some trees, where she was ejected from the vehicle.
Responding Officers performed CPR on the driver until medics arrived. The woman had a pulse and she was transported by medics to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham with critical injuries. Corina’s family has confirmed she passed away as a result of her injuries from the crash.
The press memo states she was not wearing a seat belt and it was unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The vehicle was impounded for safe keeping by ASAP towing.
