Cement Truck Crash At Starbird Road Snarls Northbound Traffic

Mount Vernon, WA– The Washington State Patrol Responded to a two vehicle crash that involved an SUV and a rolled over cement truck on Northbound I-5 near Starbird Road around 1 pm on February 12th, 2016.

In a Post to the Skagit Breaking  Facebook Page, the  driver of the cement truck,  Lenny Vinson ,  said the driver of a jeep passed him  at a high rate of speed,  hydroplaned and bounced off the guard rail directly in front of his  truck and he hit the Jeep, head-on.  Mr. Vinson  was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital where he spent over 7 hours in the Emergency room.  He said the occupants of the Jeep walked away from the scene without injuries.

Traffic was backed up for miles in the area for over four  hours while crews worked to clean up the crash scene.

The Washington State Patrol has not released an Official Press Release on the crash.
