Camano Island Man Injured in Whatcom County Crash

Whatcom County, WA- The Washington State Patrol responded to a single vehicle collision on West State Route 542 near Milepost 43, 10 miles East of Glacier.

According to a press memo released by the Washington State Patrol, 68 year old Guy Wendinger of Camano Island was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after his vehicle, a 2007  Toyota Tacoma Pickup left the roadway while traveling Westbound on SR542 and the truck came to rest against a tree.

The press memo states Mr. Wendinger was not wearing a seat belt but  drugs or alcohol were not believe to be a factor in the crash.

The Truck was totaled and impounded for safe keeping by  ASAP Towing. *

The cause of the crash is listed as “wheels off the roadway” and charges are not pending in the crash.
