La Conner, Washington- In the early morning hours of January 31st, 2016, Officers on Routine Patrol observed a suspicious vehicle in the dark parking lot in the 900 block of Maple Street in La Conner.
Officers made contact with the vehicle and a male and female quickly exited the vehicle. The Female Identified herself as Amber Wilson (02/17/87). The male provided Officers with a fake name. Dispatch provided information on a similar name and Officers were able to confirm the male as Roberto Mejia (10/05/1985). Mr. Mejia had several warrants, including a warrant for a 1 day commit for resisting arrest and obstructing an Officer. Mr. Meija also had several Officer Safety Alerts and was a convicted felon.
Officers placed Mr. Meija under arrested and advised him of his rights. Mr. Meija asked for an attorney.
Officers searched Mr. Meija and found two Oxycodone Hydrochloride 10MG pills on him and a pocket knife. They asked Mr. Meija if he had any further contraband on him and he told them no.
Mr. Meija was transported to the Skagit County Jail where he was searched again and Jail Staff found additional pills, foil and a business card with brown substance on it. Officers conducted a test on the brown substance which came back positive.
Mr. Meija was booked into the Skagit County Jail for Investigation of Possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Introducing Contraband into the Jail 2nd degree.
According to online court records, Mr. Mejia has a pretrial hearing on May 16, 2016.
