Skagit County, WA– The Washington State Patrol responded to a fatal single vehicle rollover collision on Southbound I-5 on Bow Hill at 7:09 am this morning.

According to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol, a 2006 Sweeper Truck was Southbound I-5 at Bow Hill (MP 234) when the driver of the vehicle, Sarah Derosier, 32 of Arlington, lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway to the right and struck an embankment and rolled over. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported by Skagit County Paramedics to Skagit Valley Hospital and later Transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where her condition is unknown.
A passenger in the vehicle, 37 year old Michael Taylor of Arlington, was trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene. The press memo states neither of the occupants of the Sweeper were wearing their seat belts.
The press memo states the vehicle was damaged and impounded for safe keeping by Budget Towing.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and the press memo states charges are pending. Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor in the crash.
