Man Attempts to Abduct 10-Year Old Girl Near Stanwood

Stanwood, Washington– The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an attempted kidnapping of a 10-year old girl in the 1600 block of 316th Street Northwest on March 26th, 2016.

According to Police, the girl was playing near her house when a man described as being a white male, balding and wearing a Seahawks Jersey grabbed her and attempted to drag her into the woods.

The girl reportedly punched at the man and fought him off before running back home to tell her parents what had happened.

Police said the girl was uninjured and is currently safe with her family.

Multiple Agencies responded to attempt to locate the man but their attempts were unsuccessful.

According to the Stanwood Police Department,  on March 18th, a high School Student was approached by a suspicious male walking his dog in the 7700 block of 276th St NW. It is unknown if the two incidents are related but police are continuing to investigate.
