Rockport, Washington:  On March 17th, 2016, deputies responded to Railroad Avenue in Rockport for reports of a residential burglary and theft of a motor vehicle, specifically a 2007 Subaru Impreza.

The homeowner told deputies he had let a homeless woman stay at his house for a few days  as she had no where else to go, however he had since told the woman she had to leave because she had caused problems at his home. The woman had left as requested.

The homeowner told Deputies that while he was at work the woman had returned to his home and broke in. She stole his vehicle, personal papers, blankets, mail, pay stubs, and other assorted items, including candy.  The woman was identified to Deputies as Christy Haller with a date of birth of 01/01/85.

A neighbor witnessed the vehicle theft, but was unaware the woman was not supposed to be at the residence.

Just before midnight officers responded to an assault on Thompson Avenue in Concrete.  The reporting party reported that Christy Haller was there and had assaulted her. Officers responded and found she was the same woman that they were seeking for the earlier stolen vehicle and burglary.  The stolen vehicle was also on scene at the assault.

Deputies were able to handcuff the woman and found a  knife and a realistic looking BB gun on her person.

The vehicle owner was called to the scene to recover his vehicle and identified other items in the vehicle as being taken from his home, including DVD’s, Personal Paperwork, his debit card, the knife, and the container of missing candy.

Christy Haller was charged with Taking a motor Vehicle without permission, Burglary in the 1st degree, and identity theft in the 2nd degree.
